Abstract
The inferior cervical ganglion having been [unilaterally] removed from a number of cats, comparison could be made of the action of the autonomic nervous system in the psychogalvanic reflex when all other conditions were equal. Small copper electrodes were attached to the shaved front paws. The readings in every series showed marked variations in resistance on the sound side after emotional stimulation while the resistance of the operated paws remained absolutely constant. Adrenalin chloride (1 cc. of 1:10,000 solution) given intravenously produced marked fluctuations on the sound side but absolutely no change on the sympathectomized side. A Leeds Northrop resistance box with a sensitive galvanometer was used.
