The Multiplication of Queensland and new Guinean Arboviruses in Aedes Funereus (Theobald) (Diptera: Guligidae)

Abstract
Ten known or suspected arboviruses from Queensland or New Guinea showed some evidence of multiplication after feeding to wild-caught Aedes (Verrallina) funereus (Theobald). As no field isolates have been obtained from the small number of this species processed in Queensland, the multiplication of some medically important viruses (Ross River, Murray Valley encephalitis, Kunjin and possibly Sepik) in this mosquito is of interest.
