Abstract
Hydrolysates of whole cells of Nitrosomonas were analyzed for amino acids and sugars. The results of a quanitative study of the amino acid composition are compared with figures for Corynebacterium diphtheriae and Chlorella vulgaris. Four sugars were detected on paper chromatograms. Their chromatographic preperties were identical with those of galactose, ribose, rhamnose and xylose. In addition, an unidentified spot was found.
