Abstract
Symmetry generators T (l) n =t I n +L (l) n are constructed for the lth‐order Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP) equation for all n≥l−2. In the case of the ordinary KP equation (l=2) these symmetries are those found by Chen e t a l. [Physica D 9, 439 (1983)].Keywords
