Neutron Polarization in the ReactionD(d, n)He3atEd=8.2Mev

Abstract
The polarization of neutrons from the reaction D(d, n)He3 was measured at 8.2 Mev incident deuteron energy. By the use of He4 as a polarization analyzer and a triple coincidence technique systematical errors in the experiment were kept very small, but at a sacrifice in counting rate. Polarization measurements were made at center-of-mass angles of 0°, 47°, and 59°. The values obtained for the neutron polarization and their probable statistical errors are P(0°)=()0.007±0.007, P(47°)=0.097±0.060, and P(59°)=0.101±0.060.
