Abstract
Lattice instability is a common occurrence among high transition temperature superconductors and is not at all restricted to a unique crystal structure. There is, however, no universal correlation between the superconducting transition temperature and the structural instability temperature. Relationships between these two critical temperatures will be discussed with specific reference to the behavior of various Laves phases, Chevrel phases, and Th3P4 compounds. Keywords
