Properties of Bi(Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconducting tapes prepared by the doctor-blade process

Abstract
Improved superconducting and mechanical properties were obtained for Bi(Pb)‐Sr‐Ca‐Cu‐O tapes, prepared by the combined process of doctor‐blade casting, cold rolling, and sintering. The tape has an oriented microstructure with the high Tc plate‐like grains having their c axes perpendicular to the rolling surface. The tape is flexible and can be bent without any degradation of Jc to just before fracture (strain larger than ∼0.12%).
