Abstract
4 groups of rats were trained on a 14-unit multiple-T-maze. After partial learning the rats were put back into the maze after 0, 1, 5, and 10 days. Reminiscence, defined as improvement after a period of non-practice, was found in the last 3 groups, the amt. increasing with the length of the non-practice period. Further evi-dence for reminiscence came from the fact that, save for a few exceptions, the performance on the first trial each day was better than the avg. performance of the remaining 4 trials. "Lapsing of error tendencies" is offered as an explanation of reminiscence.
