Abstract
It is probable that gramicidin S is a cyclopeptide hydro-chloride having a stoichiometric minimum unit of one residue each of l-ornithine, l-proline, l-valine, l-leucine and d-phenyl-alanine. The unit has one free amino group, no free car-boxyls, and one residue of chloride. Gramicidin S is closely related to tyrocidine. Keywords
