Abstract
The classification of rotational energy levels according to symmetry species of the full molecular point group, previously presented only for symmetric‐top molecules, is extended to nonlinear molecules of any symmetry in states of any multiplicity. Selection rules for electric dipole transitions between the rovibronic levels thus classified are presented. Keywords
