Abstract
A method for assaying heparin was described, based on the use of recalcified sheep plasma. Studies with horse, beef and sheep plasma indicated that sheep plasma was preferable because it gave a sharp end point with small increments in heparin dosage. The results obtained with the sheep plasma method were comparable to those obtained by the cat method, provided several cats were used. The sheep plasma method is simple, rapid, and yields reproducible results. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
