Abstract
Absorption series of ground-state atomic fluorine, 2p52P⅔, ½, have been observed in the 730–620 Å wavelength region with the helium continuum. These series have been identified with n s and n d Rydberg series converging to the four lowest states of F II, 2p 43P2, 1, 0 and 2p41D2. Fourteen new F I lines observed in emission in the wavelength region 9519–5166 A are also reported. As a result of these observations, more than a hundred new F I energy levels have been established. In addition, six new O I absorption lines are given. Keywords
