A vibronic coupling in a degenerate electronic state via a nuclear momentum and an antisymmetric Raman scattering tensor

Abstract
A possibility has been pointed out of a significant vibronic coupling within a degenerate electronic state of a molecule via the nuclear momentum of a certain vibration of the molecule. As an example, a possible vibronic coupling through an a2g vibration in a molecule with D4h symmetry was discussed. It has been shown that this type of vibronic coupling should cause an inversely polarized Raman scattering. The values of the coupling constants have been estimated for some a2g vibrations in a model of the metalloporphyrin molecule.
