Urinary Oxalate Excretion by Man Following Ascorbic Acid Ingestion.

Abstract
The mean 24 hr. urinary oxalic acid excretion of 51 healthy adult males on their regular diet was 38.3 [plus or minus] 1.7 mg. The 24 hr. urinary excretion of any individual was remarkably constant over a 3-wk. period. The daily ingestion of 4 or more g. of ascorbic acid produced a significantly increased urinary excretion of oxalic acid, whereas ingestion of lesser amts. did not.
