Bovine Platelets, Serotonin and the Retraction of Bovine Plasma Clots

Abstract
Clots of diluted bovine plasma retract when serotonin is added in adequate concentration. One of the clot retraction principles of platelets is dialyzable, and found in platelet dialysates. After thorough dialysis platelets do not exhibit clot retraction activity. Serotonin is a clot retraction principle. Possibly it is the only dialyzable clot retraction factor of platelets.
