Effect of Mesencephalic Lesions on Metrazol‐Induced Cortical Activity

Abstract
Section of the mesencephalic reticular formation by electro-coagulation alters the pattern of cortical seizure activity induced by intravenous injection of Metrazol. The duration of seizure response, which seems to be dependent on the dose of Metrazol, is not changed but the pattern of activity in terms of the amount of high voltage and hypersynchronous discharge is definitely changed in the direction of a diminution of response.
