Abstract
A pure culture study of eight separate single-spore isolates of the aquatic fungus Cladochytrium replicatum Karling (Chytridiales, Phycomycetes) has been made. Fruiting capacities and growth-rates of these isolates have been compared, together with their morphological characteristics. The nutrition of one isolate was studied in detail in liquid culture, making possible the enumeration of the constituents of a simplified and defined growth medium.
