Delayed neurological sequelae of electrical injuries

Abstract
A case of delayed neurological injury following high-tension electric shock is reported. A classification of the various neurological syndromes and examples of these syndromes are reviewed. A mechanism of delayed damage secondary to changes in biologically active macromolecules is proposed. The increasing number of individuals undergoing accidental shock requires awareness of the consequences and possible mechanisms of such injury.
