Abstract
This paper describes a two-dimensional interactive graphics pre- and post-processor system developed at the U. S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station (WES) for the finite element method (FEM). The paper describes advantages of the data structure of the package and new algorithms developed for grid generation and analysis output display. The programs are developed especially for a time-sharing system (Honeywell G-635) to be used on a storage tube type terminal (Tektronix 4012 or 4014). Programming techniques used to counter the lack of immediate response on such a system are also discussed.
