Abstract
IN response to a Congressional mandate contained in federal legislation (PL 93–82 of 1973) the Committee on Health Care Resources in the Veterans Administration of the National Research Council made an extensive study of the Veterans Administration health-care system. The scope of the charge to the committee was detailed in correspondence with the appropriate bodies of Congress, the VA and the National Academy of Sciences.
