Abstract
Language disorders are extremely complex and do not appear in isolation. Children presenting non-organic language disorders often seem to have disturbed family relationships which render them emotionally insecure. The home atmosphere as determined by the personalities of parents seems to be the most important single factor influencing a child''s acquisition of language. Therapies directed toward language symptoms seem to be most effective when it is preceded or accompanied by psychotherapy. Keywords
