Dilution of whole blood with physiological saline delays the coagulation time, and reveals changes in coagulability of the blood which are not ordinarily detectable. In addition, the method of diluting whole blood with physiological saline provides a new and simple method of isolating corpuscles and plasma constituents without the use of any anti-coagulants.
