Abstract
The phosphorus compounds, nuclease, and phosphatase activities in healthy and tumorous stem tissues of Datura were compared. The very high level of P in the tumours comes from increased amounts of acid-soluble phosphorus, lipid-phosphorus, ribonucleic acid phosphorus, and deoxyribonucleic acid phosphorus. The activities of ribonuclease, deoxyribonuclease, and glycerophosphatase were all considerably higher in the tumours than in the stem tissue.
