Abstract
Shrews (B. brevicauda) were offered R. catesbeiana, R. clamitans, R. palustris and R. sylvatica as prey. R. palustris and R. sylvatica survived significantly (P < 0.05) more often than R. catesbeiana or R. clamitans of similar size. Adult R. palustris assumed an antipredator posture more often in response to shrews than any other species tested. Both R. palustris and R. sylvatica are somewhat unpalatable to shrews. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
