Abstract
We discuss nonexponential relaxation in spin glasses and glasses above the ordering temperature in terms of the morphology of the set of available states in configuration space. Data from simulations on Ising spin glasses and from experiments on a variety of real glassy systems (spin glasses, a polymer, a molten salt, an organic liquid, and an ionic conductor) show behavior very similar to that suggested by the model.
