Abstract
The aposematic cantharid beetle Chauliognathus lecontei produces a defensive secretion, from glands in its thorax and abdomen, containing 8-cis-dihydromatricaria acid. Similar acetylenic compounds are known only from certain fungi and flowering plants.Keywords
