Abstract
Poultry manure from animals fed recommended levels of amprolium and aureomycin was added to a Guelph loam soil. A soil perfusion experiment indicated that the feed additives in the manure had no effect on the nitrification rate of the soil. The rates of nitrification were 8.8 µg NO3‐‐N·g soil−1·day−1 for the 11.2 metric tons/ha addition, 28.8 µg NO3‐‐N·g soil−1·day−1 for the 33.6 metric tons/ha manure addition, and 32.4 µg NO3‐‐N·g soil−1·day1‐ for the addition of 0.0028M (NH4)2SO4 solution.Funding Information
