Abstract
Satellite bands near the atomic lines of the emission spectrum of cesium in the presence of heavy noble gases were observed and their positions measured. For the series which also appear in absorption, the measured positions of the band maxima are in general agreement with those previously reported. Several interesting regularities in the data are noted and a simple interpretation is suggested. Keywords
