Abstract
A peptide from the N-terminal end of the ribonuclease molecule may be split off by the proteolytic action of subtilisin. The peptide and the residual protein separately have less than 5% of the original activity of the enzyme, but under certain conditions recombination of the 2 parts results in full restoration of the enzymic activity. The effect of various enzymic and chemical modifications of the 2 parts on this restoration of activity is described. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
