Abstract

If it is true that a part of the measured protein increase possibly depends on the synthesis of chloroplast proteins, then the protein synthesis of the Acetabularia chloroplasts, which themselves have functional DNA at their disposal, depends on an as yet unknown substance derived from the nucleus.
