Summary: Marked fall in arterial blood pressure is produced by intravenous injections of peptone into dehepatized dogs. Canine peptone shock and canine anaphylactic shock therefore cannot be regarded as physiologically identical reactions. Recovery from peptone shock does not take place in dehepatized dogs.
