Abstract
The burning behavior of commercial flame retardant (FR) polyester curtain fabric samples with varying weights in the range of 300–550 g/m2 is investigated using cone calorimetry. The weight of the fabric per unit area is found to influence the peak heat release rate, rate of heat release (RHR), smoke release, and other parameters. Oxygen consumption by the burning fabric needs to be given due importance while selecting the curtain fabrics for application inside the closed interiors. Keywords
