X-Ray determination of the structure and absolute configuration of a novel sesquiterpenoid, melampodin

Abstract

The structure and absolute configuration of the recently isolated sesquiterpenoid lactone, melampodin, have been determined by X-ray crystallography using direct statistical methods; a revised constitutional formula is also given for heliangine.
