BEHAVIOR OF UNSTABLE TELOCENTRIC CHROMOSOMES IN CULTURED CALLUS CELLS OF CHINESE SPRING WHEAT (TRITICUM AESTIVUM L.)

Abstract
Behavior of unstable lines of telocentric chromosomes in cultured callus cells was investigated. Callus tissues were induced from the germinated seeds in the medium of RM-64 with 3.0 mg/l of 2,4-C. Short telos of 3BS1 were most unstable. In the 3BS1 line the cells with less than diploid chromosome number were more unstable than those above diploid chromosome number. Long telos of 3BS8 were more stable than those of 3BS1 and 3BS4. Different stabilities in callus tissues were observed between the line of 3BS4 and 3BS8, although stabilities of 3BS4 and 3BS8 were almost the same under natural conditions.
