ρ−ωInterference in theπ−π+Decay Mode of the Reactionπ−+p→(ρ,ω)+nat 2.3GeVc

Abstract
In a sample of 8300 events of the type π+pπ+π++n obtained from a hydrogen bubble chamber exposure, a strong sharp ωπ+π+ peak is observed. Analysis indicates that this ω2π decay interferes almost perfectly constructively with the prominent decay of ρ0π+π+. The interference phase is determined to be -15°±30°. This phase is consistent with predictions of πB degeneracy using Regge-pole methods.
