Abstract
Rose Bengal (tetraiodo-tetrabrom-fluorescene), a rapidly eliminated dye, is distributed through a volume which corresponds closely to the T-1824 space. It is eliminated in proportion to its plasma concn., and it is therefore possible to estimate its volume of distr. by extrapolating its time-concn. curve to zero time. The Rose Bengal and T-1824 spaces detd. either simultaneously or consecutively in dogs are in good agreement. The use of Rose Bengal makes possible repetetive detns. of plasma volumes at short intervals. Keywords
