Abstract
Chromatographic assays of the ribonucleic acids (RNA) and deoxyribonucleic acids (DNA) of spores of a strain of B. cereus during their development into resting vegetative cells indicate that the base composition of both nucleic acids did not change noticeably during said outgrowth. There was no formation of RNA and DNA while the spores germinated. Synthesis of these acids began upon incubation of the germinated spores in a medium permitting further outgrowth. Keywords
