FURTHER ANALYSIS OF RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN END-PLATE POTENTIAL AND END-PLATE CURRENT

Abstract
The relation between the membrane resistance and the amplitude of end-plate potential (epp) was investigated with the voltage clamp method. The ratio of the amplitude of epp to end-plate current had a linear relation with the effective resistance of muscle fiber, the gradient of the line being 0.02 X 104 V/A/K[OMEGA] . The ratio was about doubled by lowering the temperature by 10[degree]C. The shunting resistance inserted by spontaneous miniature epp was measured by voltage clamping and the mean value was 6.8 M [OMEGA].
