Abstract
The phenomenon of ultrasonic double refraction and methods of observing it with pulsed echo methods are described in some detail. Two causes of ultrasonic double refraction are described. Double refraction effects were observed in three germanium single crystals. The main cause of the effects reported here seems to be a small angular difference between the propagation direction and a principal axis of the crystal. Keywords
