Abstract
From data relating single-birth mortality to duration of gestation and to birth-weight, weight is shown to be the more closely associated factor though either would be a good index of survival probability. There is a closer connection of these factors with neonatal deaths than with stillbirths though the risk of death is much reduced at the end of the first month. The factors also show some interaction where either is at a maximum. Keywords
