Abstract
The sympathetic preganglionic outflow from the spinal cord to the limbs was re-investigated by recording action potentials in the peripheral nerves following stimulation of the ventral roots. In the cat, the outflow to the lower extremity extends from T11-L4, with the major contr. from T13-L3 (inclusive), whereas in the Rhesus monkey (Macaca mulatto) it extends from T12-L3, with the major contr. from L1-L3 (inclusive). The sympathetic preganglionic outflow to the upper extremity extends in the Rhesus monkey from T4-T8 (inclusive) with the major outflow from T5, T6 and T7.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
