Changing Concepts Regarding Chemical Diversity in Lichens

Abstract

The problems in analysis and interpretation of chemotaxonomic data (study of secondary metabolic products) as it pertains to lichen systematics was discussed. The evolutionary and genetic implications of the data were also reviewed.
