A Note on Ascorbic Acid: Nitrogen Relationships in Grapefruit

Abstract
Physiol. studies of the yield, quality and maturity of Marsh grapefruit in Arizona have revealed certain influences of seasonal N2 supply. Trees with low N2 content at harvest have greater ascorbic acid content than trees with higher N2 content. Analyses of composited samples of grapefruit juices from diff. trees show a negative correl. coeff. of 0.91 betw. the N2 and ascorbic acid content of the juice.
