Utilizing four groups (two brightness levels and two presentation times) found that the average number of stimuli detected was related to brightness and duration. All groups showed a decline in efficiency over the viewing period and a gain with rest. The short stimulus presentation times groups made a number of responses in the absence of the stimulus light.
