Atom cooling by time-dependent potentials

Abstract
Using the concept of information entropy, it is shown that it is impossible to increase the phase-space density of atoms with time-dependent potentials or other time-dependent terms in the Hamiltonian, even if the motion is nonclassical.Keywords
