Abstract
Reactions of and with HCl and HBr were carried out in a flowing afterglow system at room temperature and the reaction rate constants were measured. The reaction is found to be nearly thermoneutral. The results lead to these values of electron affinities: . In addition, rate constants for the reactions of NO− and with HCl are reported. A number of cluster ions were observed: , and Br− (HNO3)1,2.
