Abstract
The role of radiation pressure gradients in directly generating magnetic fields in laser‐produced plasmas is discussed. The mechanism is related to the thermal sources of magnetic field discussed in earlier work in that a solenoidal electric field is produced by the radiation pressure gradient. Keywords
