Abstract
The dynamic deformation theory is modified and employed to calculate the spectra of 70,72,74Ge. The lowering of the lowest excited O'+ states is attributed to shape coexistence induced by pair fluctuations, while the extra lowering at 72Ge is attributed to a spherical-oblate shape transition. Keywords
