Abstract
Factors limiting the duration of maintenance hemodialysis in humans were discussed. Complications discussed included: exhaustion of vascular sites, progressive motor heuropathy, metabolic bone disease, atherosclerosis, dealysis ascites and dealysis dementia. Only the last 3 items are presently unavoidable complications of long-term hemodialysis. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
