Lysis of Formalinized Bacteria by Bacteriophage

Abstract

Expts. are reported on the phenomenon of bacterial lysis and bacteriophage production using bacteria previously inactivated with formaldehyde. From material prepd. for electron microscope examination it was shown that lysis and bacteriophage multiplication were dependent on the concn. of formaldehyde used for inactivation.
